The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, recently addressed NDC supporters in Hohoe, Volta Region. During his speech, he stated that he is being cautious with his promises for the 2024 general elections due to the current state of the economy.
According to him, the country’s economy is in crisis, and it limits him from making grand promises.
He promised to show the books and finances of the country to reveal the harm that the New Patriotic Party administration has done.
Mahama added that the next NDC government would pay monthly allowances of GH¢1,000 to all Assembly members, which would cost the nation GH¢80 million annually.
He also mentioned that the President’s office budget alone is more than GH¢2 billion and that they would reduce the President’s office expenditure to pay the Assembly members.
