Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, has expressed his satisfaction with the progress made in economic recovery.
On Sunday, August 6, he spoke on Ghana Television and described the economic recovery as marvelous. He expressed his satisfaction with the progress made and stated that he was impressed with where we are currently at.
During his address to Parliament, Mr. Ofori-Atta stated that the government successfully avoided an unimaginable situation..
During the presentation of the mid-year budget review for 2023 on July 31st, he stated that the government had successfully avoided empty shelves in stores for medicines and other essential items with great effort. The country has not experienced any shortages of food.
“He said that we have been fortunate enough to avoid the inconvenience of waiting in lengthy lines for fuel at our gas stations. Despite all the obstacles, we have been able to maintain a consistent electricity supply.”
“It is truly remarkable how we have turned the corner, as the Psalmist once said in Psalm 118:23, and it is a remarkable achievement in our eyes. This accomplishment is due to the investments and sacrifices we have made together during this challenging period since March 2020,” he stated.
According to Mr. Ofori-Atta, it’s crucial to recognize the significant accomplishments that our country has achieved in the past three years.
Let’s take a moment to reflect on the fact that, despite the challenges our country faces, we have been fortunate to avoid many extreme conditions that others have endured. These include peace, good health, security, uninterrupted power supply, and the gift of life, among others.
