According to the Ghana Police Service, it is not opposed to any kind of demonstration.
ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi stated in a press release issued by the Ghana Police Service that the Service has a record of protecting protesters in the past.
“The Police would want to extend gratitude to the general public, especially those in Accra, for their support and understanding as we worked within our mandate to preserve peace and order during the demonstration, which lasted for three days.
“We want the public to know that the Service is not opposed to any individual or group of individuals who may want to demonstrate.
She continued, “We have a history of providing security for demonstrations in the past and would do so again within the bounds of the law.
