Georgina Agyeman, an 18-year-old apprentice, passed away suddenly in Anwiankwanta in the Ashanti Region after being the victim of what is believed to have been a terrible gang rape.
The victim reportedly passed away while being raped, according to sources.
The woman was discovered in an unfinished building at Abenkyim, a suburb of Anwiankwanta, with her pants around her neck, her buttocks facing the sky, and her jeans trousers partially gone. Blood was detected on her vagina and on the floor where she was made to kneel.
The deceased was unable to get home on Friday night after she finished work. At 4 p.m. on Saturday, her body was discovered in an incomplete structure by her family and neighbourhood residents who had launched a search.
Following the event, the neighbourhood has become tense as residents claim that it is unsafe for women to leave their homes after sundown.
The Bekwai Municipal Government Hospital accepted the body for an autopsy.
