In advance of Sunday’s match against Karela United, Asante Kotoko manager Prosper Narteh Ogum has urged fans to show steadfast support.
With no wins in their first two games, Kotoko has had trouble getting into a rhythm. In their home opener against newly promoted Heart of Lions, they were held to a scoreless draw. The following weekend, they lost 2-1 to Bibiani Goldstars.
Ogum, who won the league with the Porcupine Warriors during the 2021–2022 season, has urged the supporters to flood the stadium on Sunday in an effort to silence Karela United despite the lackluster start.
“I will ask our supporters and all of our team’s stakeholders to come out and support of us in numbers even greater than double or triple what we saw against Heart of Lions on Sunday.”
“I must use this opportunity to thank the supporters who came out in large numbers that day and cheered them on from the start of the game until the very finish. I’ll reassure them that they shouldn’t be afraid, to come in large numbers, and to expect us to play well and prevail, he said.
