President Akufo-Addo reassures Ghanaians that their government is trying to bring the country’s economy back to a high growth rate.
He said that under Nana Akufo-Addo’s presidency, Ghana’s fortunes will be restored with unity, faith, and the grace of Almighty God.
On Sunday at the Presbyterian Church of Ghana’s Valedictory Service for the departing Moderator, Mr Akufo-Addo made these remarks.
“I want to reassure you that the Akufo-Addo administration is making every effort to get the economy back to growing at a rapid pace and to emulate the economic management of the years leading up to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, which at the time made the country’s economy one of the fastest-growing in the world”.
“We can only succeed if we move forward in faith and unity, believing that Ghana’s fortunes, under President Nana Akufo-Addo, will be turned around by the grace of Almighty God. Though I acknowledge that things have been difficult, it is evident that our economy is improving and that we are returning to growth and development,” he remarked.
He added “To get here, we had to take some difficult and hard decisions. The policies and programs we are implementing are meant to address the challenges, and it is evident that they are doing so.
“Nevertheless, I will continue to need your understanding and active cooperation. We can make it if all of us work at it.”
