Event organisers across the nation have received assurances from Inspector-General of Police Dr George Akuffo Dampare that security will be provided for all events planned in December and beyond by the police.
The IGP states that to guarantee that every aspect of security is taken care of, the Police will work with event organizers nationwide.
Speaking to representatives of the Ghana Tourism Authority and event Organizers on Wednesday at the Police Headquarters in Accra, the IGP expressed the wish of the police that event planners will feel secure in their ability to stage events all year long, knowing that the police will be there to safeguard that.
“We think that events in Ghana should continue until December since we’re always prepared to look out for you and your event’s participants. “The police will protect you and your events, so we should try to hold major events across the country throughout the year as tourism boosts the economy tremendously.”
“We will work with the tourism authority to establish a liaison between us and you, the event organizers so we can work together and make Ghana proud,” Dr. Akuffo Dampare promised.
Tourism businesses and event planners are appreciative of the police’s assistance, according to Kwasi Agyeman, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority.
“This is unprecedented, and I’m overwhelmed.” We have never had the opportunity to speak with police management. We sincerely appreciate the chance to communicate with you and share experiences, IGP and your team.
