At the Garrison Methodist-Presbyterian Church, Burma Camp, Accra, the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) staged a religious induction ceremony for Air Vice Marshal Frederick Asare Kwasi Bekoe, the new Chief of Air Staff.
This comes after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo named him the Chief of the Air Staff of the Ghana Air Force on January 26, 2023.
He said, “Air Vice Marshal Bekoe takes great pride in looking after his Airmen; as a result, he is a leader whom others look up to.”
The CDS pleaded with the Force to support the new Chief of Air Staff as he was expected to.
In order to protect the peace and security of Ghana and the Subregion, Air Vice Marshal Bekoe stated that his ambition was to create a strong and prospering Air Force with the help of his colleagues.
He emphasized his dedication to strengthening the capabilities of his men and women and facilitating the Force’s effective retooling to improve operations.
He thanked all of the previous Chiefs of the Air Staff and declared that he would be building on the strong foundation they had created.
In order to improve its operations and support its sister forces, Air Vice Marshal Bekoe encouraged the government to keep retooling the Force.
Ministers of State, members of Parliament, Presidency officials, traditional and religious leaders, and other dignitaries attended the ceremony.
Prior to his appointment, Air Vice Marshal Frederick Asare Kwasi Bekoe served as the Jubilee House’s Air Officer of Special Duties and reported to the Presidency’s Chief of Staff on all issues pertaining to the Presidential aircraft.
Prior to that, from January 2016 to January 2019, he served as the Base Commander of Air Force Base, Accra.
Despite being from Tutu-Akwapim, Air Vice Marshal Bekoe was born on Sunday, May 28, 1967, in Akim Oda, in Ghana’s Eastern Region.
Hecta International School in Akim Oda provided him with his basic education before he continued on to St. John’s Grammar Secondary School in Accra. He graduated from Accra Academy with the GCE Advanced Level Certificate (A Level) in 1987 after receiving the West Africa Examination Council Certificate (0 Level) in 1985.
As a result of his numerous roles with the Ghana Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Bekoe has a thorough understanding of air force issues on both the operational and staff levels.
He is married to Mrs. Rosette Okyere Bekoe, and together they have two daughters, Frederica, who is 25 years old, and Flora, who is 22 years old.
