The vice presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has called on voters to prioritize their developmental needs as they head to the polls on December 7, 2024.
During a campaign stop in Adiembra Zezera, Dormaa West Constituency, in the Bono Region, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang highlighted the NDC’s achievements across various sectors, including health, education, infrastructure, and utilities. She noted that the NDC had fulfilled its promise to build 200 secondary schools before leaving office in 2017, contrasting this with the ruling New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) unfulfilled pledge to construct 350 schools.
Stressing that elections are about track records, she challenged the government to demonstrate its accomplishments and warned voters to be cautious of short-term incentives meant to sway votes, such as cash handouts. She criticized the NPP for neglecting essential services like water, roads, and electricity.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang urged voters to support NDC presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama, promising that his election would bring job creation through initiatives like the Big Push, the National Apprenticeship Programme, the Women’s Development Bank, and a 24-hour economy.
