Sammi Awuku, the director general of the National Lotteries Authority, has praised the Akufo-Addo administration for the initiatives being taken to strengthen the faltering Ghanaian economy.
According to Mr. Awuku, immediate action is being taken to produce the required progress.
On August 22, the former national organizer of the New Patriotic Party remarked on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana program that even the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is astounded by the nation’s economic turnaround.
The NLA director acknowledged that things are difficult but predicted better times.
He asked Ghanaians to assist the administration in reviving the economy in order to benefit everyone.
“We need to celebrate our tiny success story, which has gained worldwide acclaim. Yet now that COVID-19 has passed, even the IMF is surprised by Ghana’s economic rebound. They did not anticipate the speed.
Thus, he remarked, “I am optimistic that these economic builders will be able to carry us through these trying times that we are in.”
Mr Awuku also praised President Akufo-Addo for his admission of the challenging times in which the country finds itself.
He says that is the mark of a good and honest leader.
“Look, times are challenging and anybody who pretends that times are okay is being disingenuous, but times are challenging not just in Ghana and even our president has admitted that these are challenging times and that is the honesty I want in my leader.”
