Randy Abbey, an executive member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), announced his withdrawal from participating for the GFA presidency as the election date draws near.
Abbey, who also serves as the president of Heart of Lions, was widely considered to be Kurt Okraku’s strongest rival, but he has dismissed any rumors that he was considering a bid for the association’s top job.
In addition to Randy Abbey and Bernard Amofa Jantuah, whose financial supporter is Berekum Chelsea, Okraku’s first term finishes in October.
“I’m not interested in running for the GFA presidential seat; it is out of the question.” Abbey stated.
Abbey has been a crucial part of the Kurt Okraku-led GFA administration’s Executive Council and is ready to continue helping the group accomplish more.
His team, Heart of Lions, was promoted from Division One to the top level and is looking to make a splash next season after being demoted eight years ago.
