Former Commissioner of Police George Alex Mensah, who cleared the New Patriotic Party (NPP) examining process, has stated that he is confident he will win the Bekwai seat.
Four candidates have entered the race as a result of First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Joseph Owusu-Osei’s decision not to run for reelection in the upcoming NPP primaries.
In the upcoming primaries, COP George Alex Mensah is predicted to receive 60% of the vote, despite the competition being fierce.
“We need to break the eight, and the only thing that will enable us to do so is unity, so that is what I am going to do—bring unity to the party. I’m going to exert every effort necessary to enhance the neighbourhood.
“It should be more than 60 percent with the percentage I am going to receive,” he continued.
Henry Opoku-Ware, Kingsley Opoku Agyemang, and Raph Poku-Adusei, the other candidates, are similarly hopeful about winning the primaries.
