The late Deputy Finance Minister Dr. John Kumah’s wife, Apostle Lilian Kumah, claims that if the statements made around her husband’s death are not looked into, none of her children will serve their country.
She asserts that she was aware of her husband’s condition, but justice must be done if Blessed Godsbrain Smart, also known as Captain Smart, is correct and her husband’s death was caused by food poisoning.
She declared, “No child of my womb will serve the country,” to Asaase Radio in Accra. Considering how disappointing it is. How can a man who has devoted his life to serving the country still be in office while someone is speculating in the name of journalism and spreading cheap propaganda?
Mrs. Kumah said she would be appreciative if Captain Smart could offer proof of his allegations that her husband had been poisoned.
Mrs. Kumah pleaded with President Akufo-Addo to launch an investigation into her late husband Dr. John Kumah’s suspected poisoning.
“I am using this media to talk to the president. I beg him. Captain Smart says he knows who killed my husband. So Captain Smart should help us find who killed my husband so the person will be arrested to face the law,” she said.
Mrs. Kumah revealed that she accompanied her late husband, Dr John Kumah, to Germany for medical treatment.
However, she was never informed that his illness was the result of poisoning.
“John Kumah was in pain but he never showed it. He did all that he had to do. And one motto he always used to say was, ‘We don’t do what is convenient, we do what we are commanded to do. We are not living out of convenience. We are doing what is necessary. It’s not about now, it’s about the future. It’s about impact, it’s about legacy.
“I was never told he was poisoned. I have medical reports from both Germany and this country. No one has said anything about food poisoning. I know what killed my husband which wasn’t poison. What hasn’t killed my husband, I won’t say it did.”
“As far as I’m concerned. My husband was sick. I know the sickness. I won’t lie and that’s what I know killed him. So if anyone knows anything, I want to know,” she said.
