Hon. Freda Prempeh, a member of parliament for Tano North and a minister of state in the Presidency, has been appointed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to the position of minister of sanitation and water resources.
She succeeds the Hon. Cecilia Abena Dapaah, whose letter of resignation, dated Saturday, July 22, 2023, was accepted by the President on that same day.
President Akufo-Addo also appointed Hon. Mavis Nkansah Boadu, Member of Parliament for Afigya Sekyere East and Deputy Minister for Roads and Highways, as Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, and Hon. Thomas Mbomb, Member of Parliament for Tatale/Sanguli, as Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration. These appointments were made after consultation with the Ministers for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration and Roads and Highways, respectively
The Presidency’s Director of Communications, Eugene Arhin, said in a statement on Tuesday, July 25, “These appointments take effect immediately.”
