In the MTN FA Cup Round of 64 at Baba Yara Stadium, Asante Kotoko defeated Nations FC.
Steven Mukwala scored twice, and the Porcupine Warriors added goals from Richmond Lamptey and Isaac Oppong to complete a 4-2 victory.
The Ugandan striker gave Prosper Narteh Ogum’s team the lead after just six minutes of play at home, setting the tone for the triumph.
After seven minutes, Oppong doubled the lead with a close-range tap-in to score his second goal in his past two games.
Soon after, Lamptey also found himself on the scoreboard as Kotoko appeared poised for chaos; however, Nafiu Sulemana narrowed the Nations’ deficit prior to halftime.
Four minutes after the half, Mukwala completed his brace, and Asante Kotoko advanced to the round of 32. Nations FC responded with a goal from Asamoah Boateng Afriyie, bringing the score to 4-2.
