Notice has been given to the Mortuary Workers Association of Ghana (MOWAG) to begin an indefinite nationwide strike on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.
The mortuary employees declared in a statement on November 22 that they are going on strike because they have tried in vain to have their complaints addressed.
The Association has previously voiced concerns regarding their unforgiving working environment.
“At the MOWAG general meeting, it was decided to serve notice of an indefinite nationwide strike in accordance with Section 159 of Act,651(2003), as all other channels of grievance resolution had proven to be ineffective. According to our position, all funeral directors in Ghana will cease operations on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, and continue until any outstanding issues within your jurisdiction are settled.
