Mahama Ayariga, the Bawku Central Member of Parliament, has denounced the attack on a truck transporting traders from Bawku to Binduri, which left roughly seven people dead and several injured.
The truck was ambushed and fired upon by unknown gunmen on the outskirts of Binduri. The incident happened on Monday, January 22, while the truck travelled to the Atuba market.
Mahama Ayariga denounced the attack and urged the Ghana Police Service to launch an investigation to apprehend and punish the attackers.
“I once again appeal to all sides in the Bawku conflict to lay down their arms and let us end this senseless violence,” Mahama further called for calm in his statement.
