Lawyers for former Sanitation and Water Resources Minister Cecilia Abena Dapaah are requesting a retraction and an apology from the Multimedia Group for what they claim to be inaccurate reporting on money supposedly discovered in their client’s bank account.
The letter from Madam Dapaah’s attorneys detailed the actions taken against their client by the Special Prosecutor’s officer and expressed the lawyers’ conviction that the media narrative is unreliable.
There has allegedly been a heavy reliance on information from unnamed sources in the reporting on their client’s case, According to the lawyers.
The lawyers characterized the reports as “reckless disregard for the truth and veracity.”
“In order to avoid legal action and apply the total weight of the law to your outfit for the harm and injury your reporting has caused and continues to cause, we are requesting in this letter that your firm retract the false information it has published and issue an apology to our client within three (3) days of the delivery of this letter (using the same methods and coverage it used to publish the false information).
