Former Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has said that John Mahama is not the kind of man who would be readily persuaded to serve as a running mate.
This is in response to his name being mentioned by a number of interest organizations and people as a potential running mate for former President John Mahama in the 2024 presidential elections.
In a statement, the former chief of staff distanced himself from the opinions that these organizations and people had stated in the media.
“I have collaborated with President Mahama and remain one of his closest confidantes. Working with him has given me enough experience to know that he always makes the proper decisions when they are needed. He is not the kind of person who would respond well to lobbying for such a post, said Mr. Debrah.
He urged the various interest groups and people to stop putting pressure on the party’s flagbearer to choose his running mate, reiterating that Mr. Mahama will announce his decision when the time comes.
