Interior Minister Henry Quartey will brief Parliament on Wednesday, June 26, about the government’s actions in response to recent serial killings of private security personnel in Bole and Wa in the Upper West Region.
The Second Deputy Speaker, Mr. Andrew Amoako Asiamah, gave the directive after Yusif Sulemana, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bole, raised the issue.
Mr. Sulemana reported that three people were killed in Bole between May and June, and two more in a similar manner in Wa. He expressed concern about the situation and urged the Interior Minister to provide an update on the number of permanent police officers at the Bole post.
Dr. Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, MP for Wa Central, also expressed concern, noting similar killings in Wa Central last year and urging the Police to conduct thorough investigations and bring the perpetrators to justice.
