Inaki Williams scored for Athletic Bilbao in their victory against Cadiz on Saturday in La Liga as he made his La Liga comeback from international duty.
Bilbao was ready to rebound with a victory as they hosted Cadiz in an entertaining matchday five matchup after a scoreless draw at Mallorca before the international break.
The first half was intense, but neither team managed to score. Athletic Bilbao came back from the interval with increased vigor, and their efforts paid off when Gorka Guruzeta broke the scoreless tie in the 66th minute.
The club’s desire for more led to Asier Villalibre’s first goal of the season in the 68th minute, extending the advantage for the home team.
Later on, Inaki Williams scored the third goal, helping Athletic Bilbao defeat Cadiz 3-0 at the Estadio San Mames. With a well-timed strike in stoppage time to secure a 3-0 victory for his club and score his second league goal of the season after five appearances, the 29-year-old polished off a spectacular display.
He is hoping to get more goals as Athletic Bilbao targets European qualification in the ongoing season.
Williams who once again failed to impress in the recent international break for Ghana is hoping to finally transfer his remarkable show in the La Liga to his country as they anticipate several fixtures in the future including the 2026 World Cup qualifiers which kick off in November.
