The coach of the Ghana U20 team, Desmond Offei, expressed his excitement following their impressive victory over Gambia in the second Group A game at the African Games held in Accra.
The Black Satellites recovered from a slow start in the championship to beat Gambia 3-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday night. Aziz Misibau, Abdul Aziz Issah and Jerry Afriyie were the goal scorers for the Ghanaian team, keeping their hopes of winning gold alive.
Offei commended his players for their hard work and congratulated them on their victory. He stated that he was not too surprised by their win as he knows the qualities of his boys. He also mentioned that he had been pushing the players hard and encouraging them to show courage and hunger in their games.
Despite dominating the game, the Black Satellites missed several chances, with Misibau Issah missing a penalty in the second half. However, Offei expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, stating that they had full control of the game and created a lot of chances. He also praised the team for their response to the goal they conceded.
The team is set to play against Benin in their final group game, and a draw could potentially secure their spot in the semi-finals. Offei expressed his confidence in the team, stating that they are capable of playing against any opponent and winning.
