The Minister for Food and Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong, has offered a challenge to the North Tongu MP, Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa, regarding claims about the financial status of Rock City Hotel. Acheampong said he would give Ablakwa a house and a hotel if he could prove that Rock City Hotel made losses.
The challenge was made in response to Ablakwa’s allegations about the financial status of Rock City Hotel. Acheampong said, “If Ablakwa can prove with documents that Rock City Hotel made losses in 2023, I will give him an unused house in Trassaco that I bought in 2014. If he wants to donate it to a charity, I’ll help make that happen, and everyone can witness it.”
Acheampong also stated that if Ablakwa can prove that Rock City’s 2023 financial records show losses, and if there is a hotel owned by Rock City in North Tongu, particularly the Akosombo Continental Hotel, then he will give it to him.
Additionally, Acheampong defended Rock City’s financial status, highlighting the hotel’s scale and ongoing expansion. He emphasized that Rock City has a large number of rooms and is in the process of building more. Acheampong also stated that the hotel pays its taxes and aims to become the largest hotel in Africa.
Expressing his frustration over Ablakwa’s allegations, Acheampong described them as baseless and politically driven. He emphasized that he would not tolerate false claims and noted his annoyance at Ablakwa’s statements.
