The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has encouraged Ghanaians of different faiths and religions to peacefully coexist for national unity.
In a meeting with the clergy in the Northern Region, Dr. Bawumia expressed his confidence in associating with Christians, emphasizing that being a true Muslim does not prevent one from getting close to Christians and vice versa.
He referenced a teaching of Prophet Mohammed that Muslims should build closer relationships with Christians. Dr Bawumia also emphasized the importance of promoting peaceful coexistence between different faiths in Ghana to prevent the influence of extremists who take advantage of disagreements between believers.
He urged for the continuation of the peaceful coexistence that exists in the country.
