Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a presidential candidate from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and member of parliament for Assin Central, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the propensity to falsely characterize those who tell the truth as haughty.
The businessman expressed his disappointment at the widespread propensity to label those who speak honestly as arrogant in an interview on Citi TV. He believes that this categorization discourages many from engaging in open discussions of significant topics out of concern that they will be branded as such.
As Mr. Agyapong put it: “Many Ghanaians are reluctant to express the truth out loud for fear of being branded as haughty. When you tell the truth, people accuse you of being conceited and offensive “.
Agyapong commented on his frequently perceived rough language and direct responses on platforms of public media, saying, “I always reciprocate actions and before I come out, you would have done it for several times that I did not even say anything and one day, when I come out, because it is me, then the public begin to have problems with my response and I think that is unfair.”
In order for the nation to advance, he highlighted the importance of discipline, honesty, and fearlessness.
Mr. Agyapong stated his disapproval of the trend of criticizing those who reply to accusations and jabs made against them but fail to address the source of the offense.
Mr. Agyapong defended himself as a role model worth imitating, saying that his record shows a balance between perceived positive and negative behaviors.
He insisted that his contributions’ total influence outweighed any unfavourable judgments that might result from his outspoken attitude.
