The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has warned about upcoming bad weather on Thursday, May 16th.
Two rainstorms are expected, with the Nigerian storm arriving around 9:30 am. The coast and northern areas will likely experience heavy rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms.
GMet said, “A rainstorm with thunderstorms over northern Benin into Togo will move west to affect northern Ghana. Another rainstorm from Nigeria will also move west to impact the coastal and middle parts of the country.”
GMet stressed the increased risk of flooding and wind damage and advised people in vulnerable areas to stay alert and take necessary precautions.
