Following the start of the second pricing window in September, some Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) began dramatically reducing fuel prices at the pumps.
This is the fourth straight decrease in fuel prices by OMCs since prices began to fall during the first pricing window in August.
Goil, a state-owned company, has reduced the price of petrol (Super XP) to GH¢12.99 from GH¢14.16 in September’s first pricing window.
Diesel (Diesel XP), previously priced at GH¢14.70, is now being sold at GH¢14.49.
These reductions are attributed to the continued declines in prices of refined petroleum products on the international market and the relative favorable performance of the Cedi against the preceding pricing window.
Additional OMCs are anticipated to follow suit and reduce their prices in the coming days.
