Kennedy Osei Nyarko, the chairman of Parliament’s Roads and Transport Committee, claimed during the discussion of the 2024 budget that the government’s attempts to improve the nation’s inadequate road system are unprecedented.
About GHC16 billion has been invested in the sector in the seven years that the Akufo-Addo administration has been in office. This is the largest amount that any government in our history has ever given the road industry.
The Akufo-Addo administration is dedicated to finding solutions for the various issues facing the road sector. I am aware that there are a lot of problems in the industry, and no single government can fix them all. It all comes down to commitment, though. Kennedy Osei Nyarko highlighted, “The government is currently working on a number of projects on these roads that are dispersed across the nation.
