Frank Lampard has been appointed as the head coach of Chelsea until the end of the season after Graham Potter`s dismissal.
Lampard has been out of a job since he was dismissed by Everton in January, previously managed the Blues from July 2019 until January 2021. He was sacked the following season and replaced by Thomas Tuchel.
“We want to provide the club and our fans with a clear and stable plan for the remainder of the season,” a statement said.
“We want to give ourselves every chance of success and Frank has all of the characteristics and qualities we need to drive us to the finish line.”
In his previous managerial spell at Chelsea, Lampard took over with the club under a transfer restriction but usher them to a fourth-place finish and the FA Cup final in his first“.

“We have an important game against Wolves on Saturday and then we will turn our attention to our Champions League quarter-final in Madrid next week. We are all going to give Frank our full backing as we aim to get the best possible outcome from all our remaining games.
Lampard was at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday for Chelsea’s 0-0 draw with Liverpool, when Bruno Saltor was in charge.
