According to a High Court decision, investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas will testify in open court against former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kwasi Nyantakyi.
However, an adept media professional will be camouflaged.Prior to such evidence, Mr. Nyantakyi would have the chance to see him in private.
Following a request by Mr. Nyantakyi’s attorneys, the court issued this decision.
They had pleaded with the judge to allow them a chance to catch a glimpse of Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ true face.
As a result of the Number 12 documentary, which exposed corruption in Ghanaian football, the former football admin is currently facing criminal charges.
In its decision, the court stated that it is in the interests of justice to provide the means for a citizen whose liberty is at jeopardy to defend oneself.
It was mentioned that Anas is a key witness in the outcome of the case. In order for the accused to recognize him and be able to defend himself, it is important to point out his identity.
According to the court, Anas has been photographed in public speaking to the media while donning his bead masks, demonstrating his familiarity with going unnoticed in public. Therefore, issued the following directives regarding how the case should be handled:
“Investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas will testify in open court against former GFA President Kwasi Nyantakyi while camouflaged in a mask.”
Mr. Nyantakyi, on the other hand, will have the opportunity to view his face in chambers prior to such testimony.”
