The National Democratic Congress (NDC) asserts that the results of its presidential and parliamentary primaries on Saturday show unequivocally that the party is capable of winning the 2024 election.
According to National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the caliber of those elected demonstrates the NDC’s will for success.
John Mahama has been re-elected by the NDC as both its presidential candidate for 2024 and as one of its parliamentary candidates for the various constituencies.
Johnson Asiedu Nketiah declared that the NDC is prepared for battle during the announcement of the presidential results.
“We are pleased that so far, the caliber of candidates created in this race gives us confidence that we will go into 2024 and win the presidential election, win a sizable majority in the House of Representatives, and also carry out the responsibility of saving this country. We won’t assert that we have the men. For you to confirm that the NDC does indeed have the men, we need the men to demonstrate their worth.
17 incumbent Members of Parliament were denied the opportunity to run in the elections of 2024.
Mahama secured the victory with 98.9% of the vote.
“I am humbled by the party’s overwhelmingly high level of confidence in me. I want to give God praise for the victory He gave the NDC. It can only be thanks to God’s particular favor that we have been traveling the country for all these days, weeks, and months without any fatalities.
“The delegates of our party deserve the deepest thanks for their cordial reception, engaged involvement, and warmth during my tour. You participated in the presidential and parliamentary primaries for our party in your usual shrewd fashion, Mr. Mahama remarked following the voting.
