Sarah Adwoa Safo, the member of parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, has unreservedly apologized to the NPP’s leadership, in particular to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and senior party officials.
Adwoa Safo revealed in a social media video that throughout her protracted absence from Parliament, she was dealing with both personal and familial matters.
She pleaded with the NPP’s leaders and backers for their pardon.
After visiting the US, Adwoa Safo was away from her job for more than a year. Some MPs demanded that her seat be declared empty once her seat became vacant.
In 2022, she was forced to appear before the Parliamentary Privileges Committee.
“I’d want to take this chance to apologize to the leadership and members of my New Patriotic Party. First and foremost, I would want to thank the Majority Caucus, my fellow MPs, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, our mother, Chief of Staff Hon. Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, and the whole leadership of Parliament.
“I want to apologize to you all for how I behaved earlier. Please know that it wasn’t my intention or plan to disrespect you all.
“I had a lot of personal and family problems. In the name of the Lord, my regional executives, Greater Accra, constituency executives, the NPP’s national headquarters, the general secretary, the national chairman, and all of your employees, I’d want to make a request of you. I humbly ask all of you, my fans and sympathizers, who believed in me and the constituency, to pardon me for everything that has occurred.
