The Adentan constituency is one of the important areas garnering a lot of attention ahead of Saturday’s Parliamentary primaries of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Linda Awuni, a young, energetic engineer, will compete against Adamu Ramadan, a current member of parliament, and Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, a former minister of gender.
Yaw Buaben Asamoah, the former director of communications for the New Patriotic Party, lost to Ramadan in 2016 but won it back in 2020.
However, the appearance of the young Linda Awuni, who appeals to the youth, and the older Nana Oye, who has previously lost to Ramadan, has made the race more competitive than anticipated.
Only by replacing the sitting representative Adu Asare with Ashie Moore in 2012—who later lost to Ramadan in the primary—was the NDC able to keep the Adentan seat.
