Thousands of supporters and executives from across all 33 constituencies in the region are demonstrating against the Electoral Commission for an audit of the voter register.
Over 500 police personnel armed with riot control accoutrements and equipment have been deployed, with the majority surrounding the Regional EC office, where leaders of the demonstration will present a petition to the EC.
Despite the deployment of MIND personnel across the regional capital, there is heavy gridlock.
