Edem Agbana, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Ketu North constituency, has praised former president John Dramani Mahama as “the fixer,” highlighting his capacity to resolve Ghana’s present governance and economic issues.
He asserts that Mr. Mahama has the experience and vision required to put the country back on the path of stability and development.
He stated that Mahama was the best person to lead the nation once more because of his last administration’s record of social programs, infrastructure development, and sound governance.
Agbana’s remarks come at a time when Ghana is facing significant economic hardships, including rising inflation, unemployment, and a struggling currency.
Speaking at a youth town hall meeting at the Ho Technical University on Thursday, August 15, Mr Agbana pointed to Mr Mahama’s record during his presidency, particularly his management of crises, such as the energy crisis (dumsor) that plagued the country.
Agbana argued that Mr Mahama’s approach to problem-solving and his ability to make tough decisions under pressure earned him the title of “fixer.”
He believes that under Mahama’s leadership, the country can rebound from its current challenges.
Mr Agbana also highlighted Mahama’s vision for the future, which focuses on creating a more sustainable and equitable economy. He noted that Mahama has outlined plans to invest in education, healthcare, and infrastructure, while also prioritising job creation and youth empowerment.
He believes that Mahama’s forward-thinking policies will not only address the immediate challenges facing the nation but also lay the foundation for long-term development.
