Franklin Cudjoe, the Founding President of IMANI Africa, has stated that the think tank will decide when and with whom to partner to protest against the government for the ongoing power outages.
He appreciated the call made by actress Yvonne Nelson to organize a protest against the Akufo-Addo government for the power cuts, similar to the one that took place during the Mahama administration.
Yvonne Nelson, a movie producer, expressed her willingness to work with IMANI Ghana for the second time to organize a demonstration against the government’s power cuts in a post on her X platform on April 22. She had previously led a protest against the John Mahama government over ‘dumsor’ in 2015, which brought together several celebrities.
Yvonne Nelson also revealed that IMANI Ghana supported her 2015 ‘dumsor’ protest and urged them to do the same against the current government.
Franklin Cudjoe responded to Yvonne Nelson’s call for a second round of the #dumsormuststop campaign on his Facebook page. He acknowledged the call as fair, though IMANI has continued to criticize the government’s bad decisions, which have led to the latest power outages (“dumsor”).
IMANI is preparing for the campaign and will choose the right time and partners for their demonstration.
Meanwhile, others can organize their unique protests in churches, mosques, bars, schools, and homes. .#DUMSORMUSTSTOP Kofi Bentil Selorm Branttie Bright Simons.”
