Richard Nii Armah Quaye, the Founder and Board Chairman of Quick Credit, has announced that the company will no longer conduct house-to-house loan recovery operations.
The decision was made after receiving feedback from stakeholders, including customers, the general public, and regulators.
During Quick Credit’s annual gathering in Accra on Sunday, Mr Quaye said that the company had decided to dissolve the house-to-house recovery department and will no longer visit clients for loan recovery.
Quick Credit has been in the spotlight over the past year due to the behaviour of its loan recovery officers.
Social media videos have captured confrontations between Quick Credit’s officers and customers who had defaulted on loan repayments.
In August of last year, four officers of Quick Credit and Micro Investment Company Limited, Tarkwa branch, were fined GH₵3,600 each by the Tarkwa Circuit Court for allegedly causing harm to Michael Kwesi Affum, a security officer of G4S security company.
The decision to discontinue house-to-house recovery operations is expected to improve Quick Credit’s relationship with its clientele.
