Shalimar Abuissi, a spokesperson for the New Force, was repatriated by the state after the Ghana Immigration Service revoked her permit.
She had been charged with obtaining a student permit under false declaration but the state prosecutors dropped the charges against her.
The GIS discovered that she had falsely claimed to be a Ghana Christian University College student in her permit application.
Shalimar was initially relieved when the charges against her were dropped, but she was re-arrested shortly after her discharge.
She was given 24 hours to leave the country and was escorted to the airport by the state. Her lawyer, Francis Xavier, believes that her fundamental human rights were violated and plans to fight for justice in the Human Rights Court.
