The country’s inflation rate as of September 2023 was recorded at 38.1 percent, indicating the increase in prices over a specific period.
At a meeting with the Christian Council of Ghana held at the Jubilee House, President Akufo-Addo shared that the government is taking measures to revive the economy and reduce inflation.
The President expressed his optimism that inflation will decline to 26.7 per cent by the end of this year, showing positive signals for an economic recovery.
The President revealed his target to bring inflation down to 15 per cent by the end of 2024, with a long-term goal of achieving single-digit inflation figures.
Besides discussing economic matters, President Akufo-Addo requested the Christian Council’s prayers and support as Ghana continues to work toward economic recovery.
The President’s positive outlook regarding the decline in inflation indicates the government’s concerted effort to address the country’s economic challenges and reduce the cost of living for its citizens.
