Mohamed Kudus, a Ghanaian midfielder who recently signed for West Ham, aspires to help his new team’s fans enjoy football by entertaining them.
The 23-year-old midfielder signed a five-year contract on Sunday to join the Premier League team from Ajax.
“I prefer to entertain the crowd because I believe that is what football is all about. I also like to score goals with my dribbling, strength, and finishing skills. I’m only here to try my best to support the group. The supporters can anticipate some entertainment. After being unveiled, Kudus said.
Kudus discussed his tenure at Ajax in the same interview. He enjoyed his three years at the Netherlands club after moving there from the Danish team Nordsjaelland in 2020. With 27 goals and two league championships to his name, Kudus thought the experience was helpful for his personal growth.
He emphasized the value of developing young talent and giving them the tools they need for the next phase of their careers. Especially with the chance to see elite football in Europe and the Champions League, he saw his time at Ajax as the “ideal midway step” between Denmark and a future phase.
Kudus acknowledged Ajax’s contribution to his development and said, “Performance is more important than outcomes, and I think that’s the best way to improve. The game’s style of play really fits how I want to play, with a greater emphasis on the technical and tactical aspects of the game, so it was a great learning experience there. It’s not just about the outcome; it’s about growing as a player.
