The schedule for the 2023–24 season of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) has been published. The first weekend of the league season, from Friday, September 15, to Monday, September 18, will see games played at various locations across the nation.
On matchday 14, Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak will square off in the highly anticipated maiden Super Clash, which will take place in Accra. There will undoubtedly be a sizable audience of fervent fans there for this much-awaited showdown.
The reigning champions, Medeama SC, will face Accra Lions FC at home to start their championship defense. Aduana FC, last year’s runners-up, will visit Nsenkyire Park as FC Samartex’s guests.
Heart of Lions FC and Asante Kotoko SC will be the first newly promoted teams to open the season away from their home venues at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Hearts of Oak will play RTU in Tamale on the league’s first day of play, and Nsoatreman FC will take on Bechem United FC in the first Bono Derby of the new year.
After the 2023 season’s first round, which is anticipated to end on December 29, the league will take a one-month hiatus to make room for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Ivory Coast from January 13 to February 11, 2024.
From February 23 to February 26, 2024, the second round of the season will begin, with games taking place at
the designated locations.
The Matchday 34 round of games will mark the conclusion of the 2023–24 league season on June 15–16, 2024.
