Asamoah Gyan, the former captain of the Black Stars, said he is not giving up football despite having announced his retirement.
At the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Afri-exim Bank Africa Trade Gateway Conference, Gyan—who led the Black Stars with 51 goals—announced his retirement from competitive football but continued to play other roles in the game.
“The sayings of successful businessmen and sports magnates serve as a reminder to me that you do not leave your love. In my retirement statement, Gyan promised to use my skills and knowledge in the areas of coaching, football business, and scouting.
The Gyan’s Baby Jet U-16 competition final, which took place at Cape Coast Stadium and was broadcast live on DSTV, was played a week before he announced his retirement.
