The Chief of Kwaso, a town in the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality, Nana Nketia Boampong II, has been overthrown by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The Kwasohene was found guilty of cheating some Kwaso royals by the Asanteman Traditional Council tribunal hearing the case at Manhyia Palace.
He is accused of having promised to give over a vacant chieftaincy position in exchange for some money totaling Gh300,000.
The Council conducted additional investigations after the leader initially refuted the charge.
In addition, Nana Boampong was charged with involvement in numerous land sales.
He was later disqualified for lying and fraud. It has been less than two weeks since the previous destooling.
For breaking traditional practices and selling lands many times, the Otumfuo recently ordered the destoolment of Nana Kwame Owusu Agyeman, the chief of Antoa, a well-known village in Asanteman.
