President Akufo-Addo vowed once more to ensure that Ghana be spared “dumsor,” or continuous blackouts, during his administration.
Speaking at this year’s May Day celebrations in Accra, the President of Ghana reassured the people of Ghana that all matters about dumsor had been successfully resolved and that they may rely on his word in this regard.
He made note of the fact that repairs to transformers and other crucial infrastructure had been finished.
Ghanaians were thanked by the President for their patience during the dumsor time.
He congratulated the people of the area for their perseverance and acknowledged the challenges they had during the period of unreliable electrical supply.
In addition to highlighting his government’s efforts to guarantee a steady supply of power, President Akufo-Addo pledged to keep moving forward with this accomplishment.
He emphasized that his administration would continue the hard work that had been done to keep Ghanaians’ lights on.
“As your president, I would like to sincerely thank every Ghanaian for their understanding and patience during the recent, brief outages in the nation’s energy supply. The reliability of the energy supply has resulted from the successful resolution of the problems with transformer maintenance and gas supply throughout time.”
The country has had a steady supply of electricity for the past few days, and yesterday there were no reports of load shedding. We have been working very hard to keep the lights on for the last seven years, and I’m sure the sad days of dumsor won’t come again,” he declared.
Dr Yaw Baah, the Secretary-General of the Trades Union Congress, emphasized at the same gathering how important it is for President Akufo-Addo to honor his commitments.
Dr. Baah emphasized the significance of acting to resolve the nation’s ongoing electricity problems.
