The election to choose a successor for late MP and Deputy Finance Minister John Kumah, who passed away on March 7, 2024, has begun at all 204 voting centres in the Ejisu.
Six candidates, including three independents, are in the highly anticipated by-election.
Voters in the by-election are anticipated to exceed 106,812.
Notably, Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, a former three-term NPP member of parliament for the constituency, is vying as an independent.
Even with all the charges and accusations of treason, Aduomi is confident she will win the by-election.
The elderly citizen Lydia Yaa Achaa, who is voting in the by-election, defies age by walking to the voting centre with the help of her daughter. This is one of the morning’s main highlights.
Though unable to recall her exact age, she emphasized the significance of her vote, expressing gratitude towards independent candidate Aduomi for his support.
